Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music artist and songwriter. Her tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread fame in the early 21st century. Swift was interested in the music scene from a very early time. Swift quickly rose up to the top of the ladder, beginning with roles in children's theater and then singing before a large crowd. It was at the age of 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a basketball game for the Philadelphia 76ers. in the next year she began playing guitar and began writing songs. Drawing inspiration from popular country artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of tween alienation. Swift's family moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was thirteen, so she could be able to spend more time pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
